The requires thorns functionality cannot currently be achieved by some 
other means.  It should not go away without a replacement.  I have many 
thorns in my checkout that use requires thorns.

Also, if CCTK_ThornRequires is not there, then the output of the -T 
option cannot list all the dependencies.  That would make this addition 
useless.
