There's also a darcs diff. That is not the problem.
The problem is that "cvs diff" is slow because it needs a network. It
does not work if you are working without a network. And then there is
the custom of moving directories in CVS by moving them on the server --
that leads to bad errors on the client.

The current idea is to store one "default" tree locally, and then the
differences between this and the next trees. This way, the diffs are
all local, and it works independent of CVS and svn and darcs and a
network being present.
